About the project
Meeting Players Where They Are
The Aquarium de Paris has long looked for new ways to share the ocean beyond its walls, from the Jellyverse to jellyfish on Google Maps. With Collect a Fish, it set out to reach young audiences on Roblox, one of the platforms where they spend the most time, and turn play into a way of discovering marine life.
An Aquarium of Your Own
Broken Egg produced and coordinated the project, bringing in official Roblox studio partner Xolbor to develop the game and the Aquarium's scientific team to shape its content. Players start with a small tank and a few pearls, open shells to discover species of different rarities, and grow their aquarium as each new animal draws in visitors. They can also visit friends, trade gifts and build together. Real species carry their scientific name and a fact sheet built from the Aquarium's own data. Icons show which live in its tanks, which exist in the wild and which are pure imagination, so every collection becomes an invitation to come see them in person.
207,000 Players
Before its official launch, the game had already drawn around 207,000 players, holding them for an average of 13.6 minutes. Players arriving through Roblox's own recommendations stayed for 24. With organic traffic now building, it brings the Aquarium to a new generation of visitors.
