About the project

A New Kind of Welcome

Always looking for new ways to connect with its visitors, the Aquarium of Paris wanted to strengthen its reputation as a leader in emerging technology. Broken Egg helped them introduce a robot guide to the aquarium floor, designed to welcome guests, answer their questions and share the stories behind the marine life around them.

Teaching a Robot the Ocean

Broken Egg gave the robot a new knowledge base built around the aquarium and its species, so every conversation could be both friendly and educational. To introduce it to the public and refine its answers, the team ran two live engagement sessions in April and July 2025, with the robot also gathering visitor feedback through on-site surveys.

96% Positive Encounters

Across 100 surveyed visitor groups, 96% responded positively to the robot, and 86% felt it added value to the aquarium's image. 78% found its answers impressive, and more than half said they would come back just to talk to it again, showing how a single on-site innovation can shape the way visitors see an institution.
